IDF promises 'transparent' investigation into hospital attack | War in Gaza

A spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces has told Sky News the investigation into an attack that killed several journalists in Gaza will be "transparent".

Nearly nine out of 10 Israeli military investigations into allegations of war crimes or abuses by its soldiers since the start of the war in Gaza have been closed without finding fault or left without resolution, according to conflict monitor Action on Armed Violence.

The so-called ‘double-tap’ strike on the Nasser hospital on 25 August killed a Reuters cameraman – five journalists were among the 22 who died.

The IDF said it was targeting a Hamas camera but has not revealed the intelligence it relied on.

The attack triggered worldwide condemnation.
