Hazel Behan says she was attacked by German national Christian Brueckner in Portugal when she was working as a holiday rep aged 20.
Brueckner was released from a German prison on Wednesday after serving seven years for the rape of an elderly woman.
It is the first time Christian Brueckner, has been among the general public since he was named as a suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, although he denies any involvement in the missing toddler’s disappearance.
Ms Behan has spoken to ITV News’ Correspondent Sejal Karia about being attacked by a masked man, who she is certain was Brueckner.
She also discusses her thoughts after he was named as a person of interest in the Madeleine McCann case.
Christian Brueckner denies any involvement in Hazel Behan’s case.
Mr Brueckner has never been arrested or charged in relation to the Madeleine McCann case and strenuously denies any involvement.
ITV News approached Mr Brueckner’s lawyer and the Portuguese police for comment.
