Imran Khan calls for protest as he is sentenced to three years in prison

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged his supporters to turn out on the streets in protest – after he was handed a three year jail sentence over corruption allegations.

Police arrested Mr Khan at his home this morning, taking him to a prison near the capital Islamabad. He’s strongly denied the charges – which could see him barred from running for office in future.
