India passes controversial bill on Muslim properties

India’s lower house of parliament has passed a controversial bill to amend laws to change how properties worth billions of dollars donated by Indian Muslims are governed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party said changes to the law will help fight corruption, but Muslims fear mosques, shrines and graveyards could be vulnerable to demolitions.
