India starts counting its invisible workforce  | DW News

From January 2026, India will start tracking how gig workers use digital tools. Roadside sellers, and delivery riders will be tracked to see which tools they use. This could mean better access to loans and insurance, but also tighter control. Is visibility a win or a warning?
