Doctors in India have begun 24 hours of strike action to protest against the rape and murder of a female colleague in Kolkata.
The Indian Medical Association said elective medical procedures and out-patient consultations would be cancelled on Saturday.
Protesters are calling on the government to introduce better working conditions and greater protections for women.
