Indonesia’s Semeru Volcano erupts

An ash cloud blasted more than a mile into the sky and miles down the volcano’s slopes on Wednesday. Officials raised the volcano to its highest alert level, evacuated nearby residents and warned people to stay a few miles away from the volcano’s crater over fears of additional eruptions.
