In 1967, ITN News explored American preparations for a journey to the moon. Astronauts had to go through ardous training. This is how they trained for it in 1967.
50 years later, the crew of Artemis II is set to go on the first lunar mission in more than fifty years on Wednesday.
They are: commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialists Christina Cook and Jeremy Hansen.
They themselves won’t be setting foot on the moon but it’s hoped their 10-day flight will prove surface exploration is not far away.
At 10 days this trip will be shorter in time but will the crew travel further from Earth than any other human.
