A mother who kept a vulnerable woman in her house as a slave for 25 years has been sentenced to 13 years in jail.
Amanda Wixon forced her victim to do manual labour, deprived her of food, wouldn’t let her wash herself, and regularly beat her at a house in Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.
On Thursday as Wixon was sentenced for her crimes, her victim’s foster mother told ITV News how she’s still living in fear — but trying to enjoy her life, after the horrors she endured.
K was finally freed in March 2021 after police went to the house in response to a report made by one of Wixon’s sons.
