The eastern Ukrainian city of Izium is one of the last functioning cities before the frontline.
We travelled there and witnessed how the city and its people survive amidst a continual Russian bombardment.
Izium is no stranger to the travails of war. In the Second World War it passed eight times between the Nazis and Soviet forces.
In this war it has passed from Ukrainian to Russian control and now back to Ukrainian. It’s currently 20 miles from the frontline and there is an abiding terror the Russians could return.
