Hundreds of thousands of civilians are facing a deepening humanitarian crisis in Taiz, Yemen’s third largest city, after Houthi forces cut key supply routes in early October.
The latest escalation followed a Houthi advance that cut the main road linking government held Taiz with the interim capital, Aden, effectively encircling the city.
The renewed siege has left food, fuel and medical supplies running short, with around 30 staff from international landmine clearance charity HALO Trust trapped inside the city.
ITV News spoke to one HALO Trust worker trapped in Taiz, whom we are calling Fatima to protect her identity.
She spoke of the struggles the city’s population are facing, and the fear that they have been forgotten.
