Iran: 'More than 500 now dead' following protests

Iran has announced three days of national mourning for its security forces killed in two weeks of anti-government demonstrations across the country.

The Reuters news agency, citing the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, now reports that 538 people have been killed. This includes 490 protesters and 48 Iran security personnel.

It comes after the speaker of the Islamic Republic’s parliament warned that America and Israel will be considered "legitimate targets" if they intervene after President Trump offered support to the protesters.
