Donald Trump used the first meeting of his newly-founded Board of Peace to urge Iran to agree to what he called a "meaningful" deal, as the United States steps up its military presence in the Middle East.

Speaking in Washington today, he said: "It’s proven to be, over the years, not easy to make a meaningful deal with Iran."
He added: "We have to make a meaningful deal or bad things happen".
