Following air strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, US President Trump said the sites were ‘obliterated’. Iran’s UN Ambassador vowed ‘proportionate’ retaliation.
Donald Trump has said "monumental damage" was done to three Iranian nuclear sites following US air strikes – and claimed "obliteration" was an accurate word to use, after questions were raised over the extent of the damage to the sites.
Posting on his Truth Social platform in the early hours of Monday morning (23rd June) UK time, the US president wrote:
"Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term! The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!"
