After fresh strikes overnight on Tehran, a spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry has warned: "Any American intervention would be a recipe for an all-out war in the region."
His words come amid reports the US President Donald Trump may be weighing up direct intervention in the Middle East, following his calls for the "unconditional surrender" of Iran and threats that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is an "easy target."
In response, Khamenei delivered his second public comments since Israel launched its attack against Iran last week and said US intervention would "undoubtedly result in irreparable damage."
The conflict between Iran and Israel is now in its sixth day, with Israel stepping up its air campaign in efforts to remove Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
