Two footballers have stayed in Australia whilst the rest of the team are still trying to make their way back to Iran amid the ongoing war.
It’s not clear why they’ve changed their minds, though there were fears that their families in Iran could have faced repercussions.
The team refused to sing Iran’s national anthem before a game in the Asia Cup.
This raised concerns for their safety so they were offered humanitarian visas by the Australian government.
