Israel launched airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early on Tuesday, killing more than 400 people, according to hospital officials.
Egypt, a key mediator in Gaza ceasefire talks, called Israel’s new offensive on Gaza a “flagrant violation of the ceasefire deal.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the strikes because of a lack of progress in talks to extend the ceasefire.
