Israel and Hamas have both agreed to the first phase of a peace deal to end the war in Gaza, Donald Trump has confirmed.
All of the hostages will be released "very soon", the US president said in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, and Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed-upon line.
"All Parties will be treated fairly," the US president’s post continued. "We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event happen. Blessed are the peacemakers!"
