The Israeli military has said it has begun striking the Iranian proxy group Hezbollah at sites across Lebanon.
Explosions were heard in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut.
Around the same time, Hezbollah said in its own statement it had launched missiles and drones towards Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s supreme leader.
