Israel says it has "eliminated" Rawhi Mushtaha, who officials say was the head of Hamas’ government in Gaza.
The IDF said it had also killed senior security officials Sameh al-Siraj and Sami Oudeh in strikes three months ago.
Fighter jets struck an underground compound that served as a command centre, where the militants were "hiding", the IDF added.
