Israel continues closure of Al-Aqsa mosque

Israel has closed the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem for two weeks.

The compound is considered the third-holiest site for Muslims, and it’s been almost empty throughout Ramadan. Israel says the closure of holy sites in Jerusalem is for “safety reasons” amid the ongoing war with Iran.
