After images emerged over the weekend of protesters shouting the word "jihad", Home Secretary Suella Braverman will today meet with Met police chief Sir Mark Rowley in a pre-arranged meeting to discuss the police’s handling of incidents during pro-Palestinian protests.
The former head of counter-terror at the MOD Major General Chip Chapman stressed that amid the controversies on the meaning of Jihad, being seen as a spiritual struggle or a physical struggle “you can protest in support of Palestine but you can’t protest on behalf of Hamas.”
