Tom Fletcher, former UK ambassador to Lebanon, has offered Sky News some reaction to the news that the Foreign Office has temporarily withdrawn some of its staff from the Beirut embassy.
"It is troubling, it is worrying, these decisions are very difficult to take… the fact that they are reducing the staff levels and asking Brits to leave if they can indicates a level of concern," he said.
Asked if it is just a matter of time before Hezbollah enters the conflict fully, Mr Fletcher said "not necessarily".
