The Foreign Secretary David Lammy says the first day of hostage talks have "gone well" and are hopeful they are "on the cusp of a deal".
Speaking during a visit to Jerusalem, he condemned the violence from Jewish settlers on Palestinians in the West Bank, saying it was "abhorrent" and he "condemned it in the strongest of terms".
