Israel launches limited ground operation in Gaza

Israel’s defence minister has warned that attacks inside Gaza will increase "with an intensity that you have not known" – until Hamas releases all the remaining hostages and gives up control of the territory.

Israel said it had taken part of a key land corridor in what it described as a "limited" ground operation in central Gaza – warning that Palestinians would soon be told to evacuate from combat zones.
