Israel ‘ready’ to pause Gaza fight in exchange for Hamas hostages

Israel has signalled it is ready again to pause the fighting in Gaza in exchange for hostages, and to allow more humanitarian aid in.

But as the bombardment by air and on the ground continues and there could be yet another delay in a vote at the UN security council, amid more wrangling about the wording of a resolution calling for hostilities to cease.
