Israel has welcomed the decision by the United Nations Security Council to adopt the US-backed peace plan for Gaza.

The resolution was passed 13-0 with Russia and China both abstaining.
It calls for an international stabilisation force to be set up in Gaza to ensure a process of demilitarizing Gaza.
The measure also refers to a possible "pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood".
