Israel security cabinet approves Gaza ceasefire deal – what now?

After 48 hours of tense final negotiations since the ceasefire deal was announced, Israel’s security cabinet has now voted to approve it.

The Israeli government is expected to pass the final vote this evening, setting in motion the first phase of the deal, which will bring about a pause in the fighting in Gaza and start the release of Israeli hostages.
