
An Israeli airstrike has struck Lebanon’s capital Beirut for the first time in months.
The IDF said it targeted and killed Hezbollah’s chief of staff, Haytham Ali Tabtabai, who Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described in a statement as "a master of murders".
Sky’s Middle East correspondent Adam Parsons says the strike represents a "significant escalation" in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has been subject to a ceasefire for nearly a year.
