Israel has launched airstrikes on the Syrian Ministry of Defence in the heart of Damascus as the government announced a new truce to attempt to stifle the growing tensions in the south of the country.
Israel’s attack came hours after a drone strike on the same building, with Syrian state media reporting that at least 13 people had been wounded. Another strike hit near the presidential palace in the hills outside of Damascus
