The Israel Defence force has made “a precise strike” in the Qatari capital Doha, targeting senior Hamas leaders.

The Gulf state has been the stage for Gaza ceasefire and hostage release talks. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu said tonight that the strike was a retaliation for yesterday’s killing of six Israelis in Jerusalem.
It follows the last 24 hours which has seen Israel accused of carrying out air strikes in central and western parts of Syria as well as Hezbollah targets in Eastern Lebanon.
Israel has hunted down and killed the Hamas military and political leadership in Gaza, Iran and Syria. But never before in Qatar, the Gulf state that has hosted the organisation’s political leadership for over a decade. So if the negotiators have been killed, who is left to do a deal?
