Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander released by Hamas

Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander has been released from captivity in Gaza and returned to Israel.

He was the last living American hostage, and his release was secured by the Trump administration in what Hamas called a ‘goodwill gesture’ ahead of the President’s visit to the middle east this week. It comes as a UN report says Gaza is at "critical" risk of famine, with nearly half a million people facing starvation.
