The Israeli embassy has said it is "heartbroken and devastated" after two of its staff were shot and killed outside a Jewish museum in Washington DC, naming them as Yaron Lichinsky and Sarah Milgrim.
The pair were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum on Wednesday evening when a suspect approached a group of people and opened fire, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said at a news conference.
The suspect yelled, “Free, free Palestine” after he was arrested, Smith said.
