Israeli forces have intercepted dozens of boats forming part of the Gaza-bound aid flotilla, sparking strong criticism from around the world.

A boat carrying activist Greta Thunberg was among those detained as it got close to the Gaza Strip.
The Reuters news agency reported 40 boats were intercepted and only one was able to progress but a social media post from the Global Sumud Flotilla said four of its boats were continuing on their way to Gaza.
