During a news conference in Tel Aviv from Israel’s prime minister’s office, it is confirmed that Benjamin Netanyahu considers the recognition of Palestine as a state by the UK and others as "absurd".
Spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian adds that Netanyahu has said recognition is a "reward for terrorism".
She says that nations taking the route of recognition will "disregard the sheer, utter chaos Hamas has thrusted Gaza into, and Israel, including our soldiers families and, of course, hostages still held in Hamas captivity, that the people of Israel aren’t going to commit suicide because of the political needs of European politics".
