Israeli strike on residential building in Gaza kills at least 23 people

At least 23 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike which hit a block of flats in Northern Gaza, according to health officials. Hospital staff said eight women and eight children were among the dead, while rescue teams are still searching the rubble for any survivors.

The Israeli military said it had targeted a Hamas militant who was behind a number of attacks, but didn’t provide any details.
