Lebanon’s president has urged the US to intervene to stop Israel’s strikes in his country.
Joseph Aoun spoke to the US ambassador to Beirut on a day in which 20 people were killed in Israeli strikes. Israel has warned civilians in southern Lebanon to evacuate to the north of the Litani river, declaring that anyone remaining close to Hezbollah positions was "endangering their life".
The Lebanese military redeployed to some border positions following the Israeli advance.
