Israeli strikes kill at least 42 in Gaza

Dozens of people have been killed during Israeli air strikes on Gaza City, according to officials from the Hamas-run media office.

Rescue workers said they were still searching for survivors in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of the city. Reports in Israeli media claimed the strikes had been aimed at a senior Hamas commander.
