Over the weekend, the US struck the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites in Iran after Israel claimed it needed American bunker buster bombs to help support the operation. A leaked US intelligence assessment reported in the media on Wednesday suggested the airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities had had little impact.
Speaking to reporters at the summit, Trump was defiant over the impact, insisting the damage inflicted by the damage will take "decades" to reverse. The US president described CNN and The New York Times – who were among the first to report on the document – as "scum".
Trump said there had been "total obliteration" of Iran’s nuclear sites, and when asked how far they had been set back, Trump said "I think basically decades."
