Rowbotham worked for the Rochdale crisis intervention team when she uncovered the child sexual abuse ring and helped bring the perpetrators to court. She said authorities scrutinised and misrepresented the team adding ‘all we were trying to do was to get protective services to do their job’ and called the treatment ‘disgusting’.
