UK foreign secretary, James Cleverly, joined calls to reform the UN security council, citing Russia’s abuse of the permanent members’ veto. Speaking on Thursday, Cleverly said the global system was undergoing a power shift away from Europe and North America towards Latin America and the Indo-Pacific region.
