US Vice President JD Vance has spoken about America’s plans over Greenland.
Speaking at a military base, he said "a lot of Americans wonder why Greenland matters so much" and why the mission of the US base there matters.
He went on to say Russia and China are taking an interest in Arctic passages, adding: "We need to ensure that America is leading in the Arctic. If a missile was fired from an enemy country into the US, it is people here before us who would give notice to our brave men and women further south in the US to let them know what was coming."
