On Monday, protesters unfurled a giant banner in the Italian city’s St Mark’s Square, which read: “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax" in thick capital letters.

Local police quickly folded it up and took it away.

Greenpeace said it teamed up with the British group ‘Everyone Hates Elon’, which has smashed Teslas to protest Elon Musk, for Monday’s banner.
