The Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has announced that she has sacked shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick due to what she said was “irrefutable evidence that he was plotting in secret to defect”.

He has also had his party membership suspended.
Kemi Badenoch did not say which party she thought Robert Jenrick was about to defect to, but Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said at a press conference this morning that he has had conversations with Mr Jenrick.
