Through his publishing empire and promotion of free speech, Hong Kong businessman, Jimmy Lai, has been a thorn in the side of the Chinese authorities since they took over the territory from Britain.
He’s been in jail for the past five years awaiting trial on charges of plotting against the Chinese with foreign forces, endangering national security.
Today that trial has come, ominously, to an end. He has to wait for the verdict of the China-appointed judges.
One of the three judges overseeing the case said the verdict of the case would be announced "in good time".
