John Healey refuses to say whether UK should boost military spending above 2.5%

The UK defence secretary has refused to say whether Britain should go along with Donald Trump’s demand to raise defence spending to 5% of national income.

Several times John Healey refused to answer the question put to him by Sky’s defence editor Deborah Haynes.

He was speaking at NATO HQ following a conference to discuss the war in Ukraine.

The UK currently invests 2.3% of GDP in its military.
