The Afghan Taliban claims that 400 people were killed and further 250 hurt but the figures have not been independently confirmed.

Pakistan says it targeted military sites in a "precision" strike, as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.

Clashes broke out on their borders in October, leading to a fragile ceasefire later that month.

But Pakistani airstrikes continued in November – and it struck 22 Afghan military targets in February.
