Karen Read acquitted of killing her police officer boyfriend

Karen Read, the Massachusetts woman accused of drunkenly striking her off-duty police officer boyfriend and leaving him to die in January 2022, was acquitted of the most serious charge of second-degree murder. She was found guilty on a lesser charge of drunk driving. Read was sentenced to one-year probation and will not serve any jail time.
