Keir Starmer announces new violent disorder unit after riots across the country

The UK prime minister has announced new ‘capability’ across police forces to combat violent disorder. Keir Starmer held a press conference following riots in parts of England and called those behind them a ‘tiny, mindless minority in our society’. The rioting in Southport, Hartlepool and London broke out after three children were killed in a stabbing in Southport.
