Shadow Home Office Minister, Matt Vickers, says that the Labour government cannot be trusted as Keir Starmer campaigned ‘against the deportation of foreign criminals’.
He added: "You can’t trust a thing this Labour government say…Keir Starmer and his party voted against every measure brought forward to toughen up our immigration system".
It comes as protests by groups opposed to asylum seeker hotels and counter-demonstrations have taken place in towns and cities across the UK.
